AUBURN – The recount is complete and Jason Levesque will officially be Auburn’s next Mayor.
The results of the November 7th election were razor thin, with Levesque winning by just 6 votes, which allowed his opponent, Adam Lee to request a recount.
After all the ballots were recounted, Levesque’s margin of victory doubled from 6 votes to 12 votes.
Lee conceded shortly after the recount ended. Levesque thanked the people of Auburn for putting their faith in him in a short statement:
“I love my incredible Maine town of Auburn and its amazing people. I grew up here. Auburn did so much for me and now I am determined to pay it back.
“I am deeply grateful to our people for putting their faith in me, and I am so excited that we are going to be working together as a team now.
“Auburn is my home. Auburn is my wife Tracey’s, my daughter Allie’s, my son Ethan’s, and my daughter Sarah’s home. As Auburn’s next Mayor, I will be working night and day on behalf of our great people and with their help, we will make all of our lives here even better than they already are.”
Levesque served in the Army for 8 years before founding Argo Marketing, identified by Forbes Magazine as one of the fastest growing companies in the nation, with locations in Lewiston and Pittsfield.
He previously ran for Congress as a Republican against Mike Michaud in 2010.
