AUGUSTA – Maine Trump Victory today announced that despite Coronavirus halting traditional campaign voter contact methods, they have already hit a major milestone. In the opening days of July, the team dedicated to re-electing President Trump and supporting Republican candidates up and down the ballot says they surpassed 500,000 contacts with Maine voters.

In a press release, the Republican National Committee’s Communications Director for Maine Nina Mclaughlin said “Our team and army of grassroots volunteers are unstoppable as they work toward bringing home victory for President Trump and Maine Republicans in November.”

Trump Victory said that more than 380,000 of the 500,000 were made after they switched to a 100% virtual campaign on March 13th. According to McLaughlin, “a testament to the infrastructure we have built and grown since 2016 while Joe Biden continues to struggle with his online operation.”

During their virtual campaign, McLaughlin said that Maine Trump Victory held nearly 200 Trump Victory Leadership Initiative trainings, which have trained more than 1,000 Mainers on grassroots activism.

Now that Maine Trump Victory has resumed in person activities, they expect to grow these numbers even more during their upcoming National Weekend of Action where the organization will deploy across the state to contact thousands more voters.

Maine Trump Victory is the name given to the operation which fuses the Trump campaign, the RNC and the state Republican Party into one political fighting force. When the state of Maine was brought to a halt under Governor Janet Mills’ stay at home order, Trump Victory announced they had seamlessly switched over to a virtual campaign in just 24 hours.
