BANGOR, ME – Senator Susan Collins is thanking America’s pandemic response heroes in a new television ad that will air statewide. “These are challenging times, but Maine has never been stronger,” said Senator Collins.  “They are the glue that holds us together… and we thank them.”

The thirty-second ad features Senator Collins expressing her gratitude for the doctors, nurses, pharmacists, first responders, law enforcement, truck drivers, grocery clerks, and restaurant workers who have changed the way they operate to help feed and protect us.

“These are troubling times for Maine and our country, but everywhere you look, there are heroes serving on the frontlines of the fight against coronavirus,” says the statement accompanying the release of the ad.

“They are the people who are leaving the safety of their own homes and families to ensure that the rest of us have what we need to make it through this pandemic safely.”

The ad features a variety of Mainers who are serving the public in the roles described in the ad. Roles that Mainers and Americans are increasingly relying on as they face the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier this month, the Collins for Senator campaign announced that it was temporarily pausing traditional campaign ads as a result of the coronavirus crisis, and they have been replaced with informational spots such as this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8eHkiTHQXk

Senator Susan Collins has been the central architect of the $377 billion relief package for small businesses struggling to survive during the coronavirus pandemic.
