OLD ORCHARD BEACH, MAINE – On Wednesday, Maine Trump Victory hosted two events with high-profile surrogates from the Trump campaign.

As part of the “Women for Trump” bus tour, Lara Trump, Katrina Pierson, Mercedes Schlapp, all Senior Advisors for the President’s re-election committee, and former Florida Attorney General and Women for Trump Co-Chair Pam Bondi visited Jimmy the Greek’s in Old Orchard Beach to grab dinner and speak to supporters.

Before grabbing food, Lara Trump, the President’s daughter-in-law, spoke to around a hundred of the President’s supporters, mostly women, amid raucous chants of “four more years.” Trump exclaimed to them that “We need to fight for President Trump, because he spends every single day fighting for us.”

After dinner, sources say the Women for Trump bus tour stopped by the Maine Trump Victory Headquarters in Gorham for a surprise visit with more than fifty campaign volunteers. In Gorham, Trump touted the historic ground game that Maine Trump Victory, a joint project of the Republican National Committee and the Trump Campaign, has established in Maine.

Maine is a critical state for the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee, with President Trump winning Maine’s Second District electoral college vote and only losing the entire state by less than 3 percentage points in 2016, with Senator Susan Collins facing a crucial re-election fight of her own, and with a vulnerable incumbent in Maine’s Second Congressional district in Democrat Jared Golden.

Because of this, former Governor Paul LePage is expecting even more trips to the state from the President and his allies alike.

In an interview, LePage said “The President has put together a really really solid ground game in Maine,” before going on to say their volunteers have already made more than 600,000 voter contacts to Mainers this cycle alone, and expects to knock half a million doors by November, far outpacing previous election years.

LePage says that a big reason that Maine Trump Victory has been able to achieve these goals, is the excitement that Mainers have for President Trump.

“People have a lot of energy for this President,” LePage said. “I was amazed when he flew out to Bangor, I met him on the tarmac, but I couldn’t believe the outside gates, people were lined up ten deep just to see the President, they were proud that the President was here in Maine.”

This excitement has paid dividends for Maine Trump Victory, as it has translated into a record number of volunteers making phone calls and knocking doors every single day for President Trump and Republicans up and down the ticket.

As far as why Mainers feel such excitement for President Trump, LePage says people vote with their wallets.

“Vice President [Joe Biden] led the worst recession in the history of our nation, and President Trump led the greatest economy we have ever seen.”

Maine Trump Victory is the name given to the operation which fuses the Trump campaign, the RNC and the state Republican Party into one political fighting force.
