FLORIDA – Rep. Frederica Wilson (D – Florida) made a surprisingly blunt comment at a press conference outside a Florida facility for unaccompanied children yesterday. In what appears to be a speech drawn from frustration, Rep. Wilson said that people making fun of members of Congress should be prosecuted.

“We’re gonna shut them down and work with whoever it is to shut them down, and they should be prosecuted,” said Rep. Wilson to assembled reporters. “You cannot intimidate members of Congress, frighten members of Congress. It is against the law, and it’s a shame in this United States of America.”

The comments were Tweeted out by Ryan Saavedra, a reporter at The Daily Wire.

Rep. Wilson famously feuded with President Trump in 2017, saying he had a “brain disorder” on CNN and then calling him “crazy” on Twitter.

Rep. Wilson’s remarks quickly became Twitter fodder.

Former Governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker asked who needs to make fun of them when you can just print what they say.

Another Twitter user just couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

And this Twitter user just couldn’t contain himself.

Rep. Wilson, meanwhile, was using her Twitter account to promote upcoming appearances on CNN and MSNBC to talk about her visit to the facility.
